At Swift Restoration and Remodeling, we're known for handling the unexpected with expertise and care. This case study illustrates how we successfully managed a challenging water damage restoration Ogden, UT project for a residential homeowner.

The Source of the Water Damage and Initial Discovery

Our client, Tessa, found us through a Google search and after reading through our positive Google Reviews, she reached out for assistance with a water damage issue in her home. While working in her home office, she noticed dampness under her feet. When she looked closer, it was clear there was water staining on the drywall and wet carpet extending from the adjacent guest bathroom. When she inspected further in the guest bathroom, Tessa noticed that the bathroom vanity supply line had a small pinhole leak, causing unnoticed water damage in the crawl space and office.

Multiple Rooms Affected

This project was primarily a water damage restoration job. The areas affected included the office, guest bathroom, and crawl space. Materials impacted by the water damage included carpet, drywall, flooring, and the subfloor, as well as the bathroom vanity.

Our Steps Toward Total Restoration

  1. Upon arrival, our first step was to set up containment to prevent further spread of damage or any possible mold spores. We then removed all damaged materials and the subfloor. Given the age of the home, we conducted asbestos and lead testing, which thankfully came back negative.
  2. For the drying process, we used air movers and dehumidifiers. Moisture detectors were crucial in checking all affected areas to make sure they were thoroughly dried. To prevent mold growth, we used an antimicrobial spray on all of the treated surfaces.
  3. After clearing the site and ensuring it was safe and dry, we started on the restoration phase. This included installing new bathroom flooring, walls, and a vanity, as well as laying new carpet in the office. Our team worked diligently to not only restore but improve the affected areas, ensuring they were better than before the incident.

The Results: Peace of Mind for Our Client

One of Tessa’s primary concerns was finding a trustworthy company to handle the restoration while she was frequently out of state for work. Our team's commitment to transparency and communication made it easy for her to stay updated without worry. We ensured that her home was in safe hands, allowing her to focus on her work without the stress of the ongoing repairs.

Tessa’s experience with our team was positive, as reflected in her review:
"Swift restoration was great to work with after I had a leak in my house. They were quick to get everything worked out and very pleasant to work with. Very communicative and respectful while they were in my home. I also travel for work very frequently and they made it easy not to stress about getting this rebuild completed while I was away."
