Ogden Union Station

Ogden Union Station in Ogden, Utah, is a historic train station built in 1924. The station was the union point for the Union Pacific Railroad and the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad. Today, it is a museum and event center that hosts weddings, parties, and other events.


History

The station was designed by architect Kirtland Cutter, who also designed the Union Pacific Railroad's headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska. It is a two-story Beaux-Arts style building with a arched portico supported by six Corinthian columns. The interior of the station features marble floors, brass chandeliers, and a grand staircase.


Today, the station is owned by the city of Ogden and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is open to the public for tours, events, and weddings.

Ogden Union Station is home to several museums, including the Utah State Railroad Museum, the John M. Browning Firearms Museum, and the Ogden Union Station Foundation Museum. The station also hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including the Ogden Kraut Festival, the Ogden Arts Festival, and the Holiday Train Show.
